Johnni: Privacy Policy (United States)

Version: 1.0 First published: October 30, 2026

This version takes effect: October 30, 2026 Last Updated: October 30, 2026

Kanata Enterprises Inc. (operator of Johnni, "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

App store listings. Until the transfer of the apps to Kanata Enterprises Inc. is complete, some app store listings may show the previous publisher, In Spect Building Consultants Inc.

Who this Policy is for. This Policy applies to you if you live in the United States, or if the home you use Johnni for is in the United States. People in Canada, and homes in Canada, are covered by our Canadian Privacy Policy at johnni.app/privacy.

This Policy applies to the Johnni app for homeowners, the Johnni for Agents app, our website at johnni.app, the inspection company portal at johnni.app, and any other website, product, or service we operate that links to this Policy (collectively, the "Services").

How you may come to use Johnni. Many people receive Johnni from the home inspection company that inspected their home, or that works with them as a real estate agent. That company (an "Inspection Company") is an independent business. It uses Johnni to deliver reports, take booking requests, recommend trades, and offer discounts to its clients and agents. An Inspection Company is not the operator of Johnni. Others download Johnni on their own and build a home profile themselves, or upload a report they already have. Section 7.2 explains what an Inspection Company can see about you.

The two apps share our account and service infrastructure. Your account role and permissions determine which records you can access; installing both apps does not give another user access to your home or client records. Features and data collection differ by app and by the features you choose to use.

1. Who We Are and How to Reach Us

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose other than providing the Services you ask for, security, and the other purposes the law permits, so a right to limit its use does not arise.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide the Services. The categories below describe what we collect, by feature.

3.1 Account and Profile Information

When you create an account or update your profile we collect:

  • First and last name

  • Email address

  • Password, if you choose to set one (stored in salted-hashed form by our authentication provider)

  • Phone number (optional)

  • City, state, ZIP code

  • User role (homeowner, agent, inspector, helper, brokerage admin)

  • Real estate brokerage, licence or title, bio, website (for agents and inspectors)

  • Profile photo or logo (optional)

  • The person or Inspection Company that invited you, and the code or link you used to join

You sign in with your email address and a code we send to it, or with a password if you set one.

We keep a record of the date you gave or withdrew permission for AI processing, and the version of the notice you saw.

3.2 Information We Receive from Your Inspection Company

An Inspection Company may give us information about its clients and the agents it works with so that it can deliver reports and invitations through Johnni. This can include your name, email address, phone number, the address of the inspected home, the inspection date, your role (client or agent), and the inspection report. The Inspection Company may provide it by uploading it, by connecting its inspection software (for example, Spectora), or by copying us on the emails its software already sends. Reports granted to the account's verified email address can appear in the App. Report access does not itself connect the account to an Inspection Company: the User must accept the connection notice or redeem a company code to join. Account identity is verified by the authentication service; an email address alone never authorizes a company connection.

We use this information only to deliver the Inspection Company's reports and invitations to you, to connect your account to it, and as otherwise described in this Policy. The Inspection Company is responsible for having the right to give it to us.

3.3 Joining an Inspection Company

When you join an Inspection Company with a code, link or QR code, we record which company you joined, when, the code you used, the notice you saw, and any optional choices you made. If you choose to receive emails or text messages from the Inspection Company, we record your choice, the exact wording you agreed to, the version of that wording, the time, and, for text messages, the mobile number you entered (Section 11).

3.4 Photo Analysis Data

When you submit a photo for analysis (for example, siding, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, appliance), we collect:

  • The photo itself;

  • Optional text caption or description you add;

  • The category you choose, or the one our system infers, and the severity it infers;

  • Your feedback on the analysis (thumbs up/down);

  • Photo metadata, including time of capture.

Location data is optional. We do not access your device's precise location unless you grant location permission for a feature that needs it (such as suggesting nearby trades or pre-filling a property address). We do not use location data stored inside a photo. A photo taken with the App's camera is saved without it. A photo you choose from your library is uploaded as it is, and may contain location data your phone stored in it; remove it before uploading if you do not want it kept with the photo. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device's settings.

3.5 Repair Price Estimate Data

When you generate a repair price estimate, we collect the defect description used as input, the estimate range produced, the property address (where available), and the trade category.

3.6 Trades and Trade Requests

When you look for a trade or contact one, we collect:

  • The area searched (city or ZIP code);

  • Trade category and filters used;

  • Listings viewed;

  • If you send a request to a trade through the App: the contact details you provide (name, email, phone), your message, the photos you attach, and the listing contacted.

3.7 Booking Requests

When you ask an Inspection Company for an inspection or a maintenance visit through the App, we collect:

  • Your name, email and phone number;

  • The property address, city, state and ZIP code;

  • Property type, size and year built;

  • The services you choose, the estimate shown to you, and your preferred dates;

  • Notes you add, and, for agents, your client's details that you enter.

We pass the request to the Inspection Company. A booking request is not a payment: the Inspection Company confirms the booking and arranges any payment with you directly.

3.8 Inspection Reports

When a home inspection report becomes available to you (because an Inspection Company sent it to you through Johnni, or you uploaded it or imported it with a one-time access code), we store:

  • Report content (sections, findings, severity, recommendations);

  • Photos taken on site;

  • Inspector identity and signature;

  • Property details (address, date, services performed).

A report you upload yourself (for example, a report from another inspector) is stored with the findings and home details our system reads from it, and the page images used to show it in the App. It belongs to your account and is deleted with it (Section 10.3).

3.9 Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Data

When you use the Services we automatically collect:

  • Device type, model, operating system and version;

  • App version, build number, language, time zone;

  • IP address. We do not store it in our own databases. The hosting providers that carry our traffic record it in their request logs for a limited time, for security and abuse prevention. It is not used for advertising.

  • Crash logs, exception traces, performance metrics;

  • Feature usage: which screens you visit and which actions you take, with the time. While you are signed in, these events are linked to your account. We use them to see how the App is used and to help you when you contact support. We report on them in aggregate.

  • Push notification token (if you allow notifications).

3.10 Johnni Chat and Voice

When you ask Johnni a question, we process your message, relevant Home Profile or inspection-report context, and the generated response to answer you. Messages and relevant context are sent to our servers and our AI providers; they are not necessarily de-identified before processing.

Microphone access begins only after you start a voice feature and grant permission. Depending on the voice mode, a recorded clip is sent through our servers to OpenAI, or live audio is streamed from your device to OpenAI during an active voice session. While a live session is open, the microphone stays on and Johnni listens for your next question; other people's speech in the room may be picked up and answered. We process the transcript, generated text and spoken response, session identifiers, and usage duration and counts to provide the conversation, enforce limits, and diagnose failures. Use Mute or End to stop the live microphone, or revoke microphone permission in your device settings. A live session ends on its own after 30 minutes. You can continue using typed chat.

We do not use your voice to identify you, and we do not create a voiceprint. We do not intentionally retain raw microphone recordings in the Johnni application database. This does not mean that audio never leaves your device or that providers have zero retention: their processing and limited operational or abuse-monitoring retention are described in Section 5.3.

Where the chat displays our quality-review notice, a copy of your questions and Johnni's replies, linked to your account and channel, is retained in a restricted quality-review archive for 90 days, with deletion performed by a daily scheduled process. Authorized staff may review it to investigate errors and prepare corrected general guidance. The archive does not include raw audio.

3.11 Communications

If you contact us by email, in-App message, or through customer support, we collect the contents of those communications and any attachments.

3.12 Reports About AI Answers

If you use "Report this answer", we keep the answer you reported, the question that led to it, the reason you chose, the channel (chat or voice), and your account identifier. Authorized staff review reports to correct errors. Reports are kept while your account exists and are deleted with it.

3.13 Home Profile and the Home's Record

Johnni keeps two kinds of information about a home.

Your Home Profile is tied to your account. It holds details taken from your inspection report; details we infer from the home's age and type and from similar homes, shown as estimates; details you add or correct, including answers to questions and appliance plates you photograph; and your tasks and your conversations with Johnni.

The home's record is tied to the property. It holds the property's systems and components and their ages, your answers about the home, the service events you record, and photo-check results. A service event or photo check includes the note you wrote and the photos you attached. The home's record does not hold your name, your contact details, your tasks, or your conversations.

How long the home's record is kept. We keep it while someone holds it in their account. When you delete your account, the home's record is deleted with it, including its notes and photos, unless you handed the home to a new owner, who then holds the record. A record that nobody holds is deleted 7 years after the last activity on it. "Activity" means something a person did: creating the record, recording a service event, running a photo check, or answering a question about the home. Routine system updates do not count.

When you transfer a home to a new owner, using the handoff code in the App, the new owner receives the whole home's record, including every service event and photo check with the notes and photos attached to them. There is no way to choose parts of it. Your account name and contact fields are not transferred separately, and your tasks, conversations, and account are not transferred. If there is a note or photo you do not want passed on, ask us to remove it and wait until we confirm it has been removed before you create a handoff code. The code works once and expires after 30 days. After a transfer, the record belongs to the new owner's account. A former owner may ask us at hi@johnni.app to remove personal information in a note or photo they added; we confirm the request comes from the account that added it.

3.14 What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

  • We do not collect biometric identifiers, your contacts, calendar entries, or health data from HealthKit or Health Connect.

  • We do not collect consumer health data. Information about a home, such as a finding about mold or radon, is information about the property.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (Section 13).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

(a) Provide the Services: generate AI analysis, produce reports and estimates, deliver an Inspection Company's reports to you, pass booking and trade requests to the business you choose, show your Inspection Company's services, trades and discounts, send notifications, and operate your account.

(b) Improve the Services: diagnose bugs, measure performance, design new features, and improve system performance using de-identified and aggregated information (with personal identifiers removed and addresses generalized to neighborhood or city level). We do not use your raw inspection reports, raw home photos, or identifiable conversations to train any AI model without your specific written consent.

(c) Send you service messages: sign-in codes, booking and request confirmations, report notices, account and security notices, and notices of changes to the Services or to this Policy. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account, because the Services cannot be provided without them.

(d) Send you promotional messages, only with your permission: we and your Inspection Company send promotional email only where you have opted in, and text messages only where you have given prior express written consent (Section 11).

(e) Protect the Services and our users: detect fraud, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms, respond to security incidents, and defend legal claims.

(f) Comply with law: respond to legal requests, court orders, regulatory inquiries, tax obligations, and audit requirements.

We will not use personal information for a materially different purpose than those disclosed here without telling you and, where the law requires it, asking for your consent first.

5. AI Processing, Automated Decisions, and Training Data

Several Services use AI to analyze what you send:

  • Photo analysis runs your photos through image-similarity and large-language-model systems hosted in Google Cloud and through OpenAI. To describe a photo, the system first finds similar photos in a reference set of inspection photos (Section 5.2) and shows a few of them to the AI model as examples alongside yours.

  • Appliance Age Finder reads the data plate you photograph with OpenAI, and looks up the make, model and serial number with Homespy, a third-party appliance-age service, to estimate the appliance's age.

  • Report reading runs an inspection report, whether sent by an Inspection Company or uploaded by you, through Anthropic to extract its findings and the home's systems.

  • Trade recommendations are produced by matching a finding to a trade category, using keyword rules and AI analysis of the finding.

  • Johnni chat and voice use relevant home and report context and your messages to provide answers. Voice can use recorded clips or live audio streaming to OpenAI for transcription and spoken responses.

5.1 What We Do with Your Content

We use your photos and documents to provide the Service you asked for, and we keep them for the periods in Section 9 so that you can open your results again.

5.2 System Improvement, Reference Examples, and Training

We do not train or fine-tune an AI model on your content. No model of ours is trained on inspection reports, photos or conversations today.

Reference examples. The photo-analysis system compares your photo with a reference set of photos from home inspections and shows the closest matches, with their findings, to the AI model as examples. The photos you upload for analysis are not added to that set.

Aggregate improvement. For improving our classifiers and estimates we use de-identified and aggregated information. Authorized staff may review identifiable submissions and conversation-review copies for quality assurance, debugging, and support (Sections 3.10 and 5.4). That review is not model training.

We do not sell any of your content, identifiable or otherwise, to anyone.

5.3 Third-Party AI and Cloud Providers

When you use AI analysis, chat, or voice, what you send and the relevant context are transmitted to and processed by the cloud and AI providers listed in Section 6, acting on our behalf. We use these providers under their commercial API terms, under which content sent through the API is not used to train their general-purpose models. Providers may retain content or technical logs for limited service, security, abuse-prevention, or legal purposes under those terms; for example, OpenAI API abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days by default. We do not promise zero provider retention.

Your permission in the App. The first time you sign in, the App shows you what is shared with our AI providers and asks you to agree. Until you agree, the App does not offer the features that send what you type, say, photograph or upload to an AI provider. If you choose "Not now", or later withdraw your permission in Menu, Profile, Privacy choices, those features are not available; you can still open your inspection report, manage your profile and privacy choices, and delete your account. A withdrawal applies on every device. Withdrawing does not delete content already processed; to delete it, use account deletion (Section 10.3).

Processing before you use the App. When an Inspection Company sends you a report through Johnni, or when you upload one, we use automated tools, including AI providers, to sort the report's findings, estimate repair costs, and record details of the home's systems. Later, when you sign in and agree, Johnni uses those details to set up your Home Profile.

5.4 Human Review

Submissions and the conversation-review archive may be reviewed by a member of the Johnni team for quality assurance, abuse detection, support requests, or to investigate a reported issue. The reviewer is bound by confidentiality obligations and accesses only what is necessary for that purpose.

5.5 Automated Decisions and Profiling

No Service makes a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you, such as decisions about housing, credit, insurance, employment or access to essential goods or services. AI output is informational. You decide whether and how to use it.

6. Service Providers

We use the following service providers to operate the Services. Each is bound by a contract or terms that require confidentiality, limit its use of personal information to providing services to us, and prohibit selling it:

Provider Purpose Where it processes data

7. When We Disclose Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose it only as follows.

7.1 Service Providers

Our service providers (Section 6) receive personal information only to provide services to us.

7.2 Your Inspection Company, and the Person Who Invited You

The Inspection Company you are connected to. If you joined an Inspection Company, or it gave you access to a report through Johnni, that Inspection Company can see: your name, email address and phone number, your role (homeowner or agent), when you joined, when you last used the App, and which tools you used and when (for example, that you checked a photo or an appliance's age, and for the Age Finder the make, model and serial number you scanned). It also receives the booking requests you send to it, with the details in them. It cannot see your Home Profile, your conversations with Johnni, the photos you analyze, or the results of any analysis, unless you send them to it in a request.

The same applies to an inspector or agent who invited you with a personal link or QR code. Sharing with the person who invited you is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Menu, Profile, Privacy choices; when you do, your details are removed from their view and are not shown to them again unless you turn sharing back on. Turning sharing off does not change the branding you see or your access to the App.

You can disconnect from an Inspection Company at any time in the App. It then stops seeing your activity. It keeps the records it already has as its own business records, such as your contact details as its client and the requests you sent it; its own privacy practices apply to them.

An agent and their client. When an agent books an inspection or sends a request for a client, the agent provides the client's details and confirms that the agent has the client's permission to do so.

7.3 Trades You Contact

When you send a request for a quote, the trade receives what the request screen shows you: the request text (which you can edit), the finding it concerns, up to four photos you attach, your email address, and, if you add them, your phone number and a time to call. The trade also receives your city and, where your home profile has them, the home's type, year built, and the make and model of the system concerned. Your street address is not sent. A trade recommended by your Inspection Company, or shown as "Trusted by local inspectors", receives your request only; it is not told which Inspection Company you are connected to. When you tap a phone number or a website, your device places the call or opens the site; we do not send your profile to the trade. Trades are independent businesses. What a trade does with your information is governed by its own privacy practices.

7.4 Discounts and Offers

Opening a discount or offer takes you to the business that makes it. We send that business nothing about you.

7.5 Recipients of Something You Share

When you share a report or an estimate, the recipient you enter receives it.

7.6 A New Owner of Your Home

When you transfer a home (Section 3.13), the new owner receives the home's record.

7.7 Business Transfers

If we are acquired, merged or reorganized, personal information may be transferred to the other party as part of that transaction, under the protections of this Policy or one that protects you at least as well. A new owner would need your consent for new purposes.

7.8 Legal Reasons

We may disclose personal information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with a law, court order, subpoena, or government request; to protect the safety of any person; to investigate fraud or security incidents; or to enforce our Terms.

7.9 De-Identified and Aggregate Data

We may disclose de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably be used to identify any person, for example statistics about common defect types by region. We keep de-identified information in de-identified form, do not attempt to re-identify it, and require recipients to commit not to re-identify it.

8. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking

Websites. johnni.app and the inspection company portal use first-party cookies and similar technologies only for sign-in, security, and fraud prevention. They do not load advertising or third-party analytics tools.

In the App. The App stores your session, role, cached profile, AI permission answer and preferences on your device (MMKV, the iOS Keychain and Android storage). This storage does not transmit anything to third parties.

Crash reporting. Both apps use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes. Reports can include stack traces, device, operating-system and app information, installation identifiers, diagnostic logs, and the signed-in account's user ID. Firebase keeps crash reports for 90 days.

No cross-app tracking. The apps do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, contain no advertising tools, and do not request App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing for these signals to switch off. We still treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale and sharing, and we do not track you across websites whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, plus any period the law requires. We may keep it longer if needed to comply with law, defend legal claims, or prevent fraud.

Information How long we keep it
Account profile (name, email, role, phone) While your account exists. Removed from our production systems when the account is deleted (Section 10.3).
Photos sent for analysis, and the results While your account exists; deleted with it.
Reports an Inspection Company sent you through Johnni While your account exists. Our copy is deleted with your account; the Inspection Company keeps its original.
Reports you uploaded yourself While your account exists; deleted with it.
Booking requests you sent Our copy is unlinked from you when your account is deleted. The Inspection Company keeps the request as its own business record, under its own retention rules.
Trade requests you sent Your copy is deleted with your account. The trade keeps what it received.
Your connection to an Inspection Company While it is active. A record that a connection existed is kept, without your details, after it ends.
Records of the notices and choices you agreed to (including email and text-message consent) Marked withdrawn, not erased, when you withdraw or delete your account. Kept, without your account link, as long as needed to show what was agreed and when, which is at least the period in which a claim about a message could be made.
Payment and invoice records 7 years from the transaction, for tax record-keeping.
Billing records between Johnni and an Inspection Company 7 years, without your name.
Customer-support correspondence 3 years after resolution.
Raw Johnni microphone audio Processed for the voice interaction; not intentionally retained.
Johnni conversation quality-review copies 90 days.
Reports about AI answers While your account exists; deleted with it.
The home's record (Section 3.13) Deleted with your account unless a new owner holds it. A record nobody holds is deleted 7 years after the last activity on it.
Crash logs and diagnostic data 90 days.
System backups Our app database is backed up every day (each copy kept 7 days) and every week (each copy kept 12 weeks). A deleted file can be restored for 7 days, after which it is erased.

When information reaches the end of its retention period, we delete it from our production systems, and a copy in a backup is erased when that backup expires. We keep a record of each account deletion (the account identifier and date, no personal details) so that if we ever restore from a backup, accounts deleted since that backup are deleted again before the restored data is used.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Every person in the United States may ask us to:

  • Know and access: tell you what personal information we hold about you, the categories of sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients, and give you a copy of it;

  • Correct: correct inaccurate personal information;

  • Delete: delete personal information we hold about you, subject to the exceptions the law allows and that Section 9 describes;

  • Portability: give you your personal information in a portable, commonly used format;

  • Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling: we do none of these, so no action is needed, but you may still ask and we will record your request;

  • Withdraw consent: for AI processing, promotional email, text messages, and sharing with the person who invited you.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right: we will not deny you the Services, charge a different price, or give you a different level of quality because you exercised it.

10.1 How to Make a Request

  • In the App: open Menu, Profile to update or correct your profile, manage your privacy choices, and delete your account.

  • By email: write to hi@johnni.app with the subject "Privacy Request". Tell us your name, the email address on your account, and what you are asking for.

Verification. We verify a request by confirming it comes from the email address on the account, and we may ask for a sign-in code. We ask only for information needed to verify you, and we use it only for that purpose.

Authorized agents. An agent you authorize may make a request for you. We ask the agent for your signed permission, and we may ask you to verify your identity with us directly, unless the agent holds a power of attorney.

Timing. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, up to another 45 days, we tell you why within the first 45 days. Requests are free of charge unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

10.2 Appeals

If we decline your request, in whole or in part, we tell you why. You may appeal by replying to our decision or by writing to hi@johnni.app with the subject "Privacy Appeal" within 60 days. We respond to an appeal within 60 days and explain what we decided. If you disagree with the outcome of the appeal, you may contact the attorney general of your state.

10.3 Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account in two ways:

  • In the App: open Menu, Profile, Delete My Account. We will ask you to confirm.

  • By email: write to hi@johnni.app with the subject "Delete My Account" from the email address on your account.

What deletion removes: your profile and sign-in; photos you sent for analysis and the results; inspection reports you uploaded yourself and what was read from them; our copies of reports an Inspection Company sent you; your Home Profile and the home's record, unless you handed the home to a new owner; your conversations with Johnni, quality-review copies, records of voice sessions, and reports about AI answers; your connection to any Inspection Company, and your details in its view of you in Johnni; your copies of trade requests; and notification registrations and in-App messages.

What is kept, and why: booking requests you sent stay with the Inspection Company that received them, as its business record; the Inspection Company keeps the contact details it holds for its own clients; records of the notices and choices you agreed to, marked withdrawn; payment and invoice records for 7 years; billing records between Johnni and an Inspection Company, without your name, for 7 years; a home's record you handed to a new owner; de-identified and aggregated information; and system backups until they expire (Section 9).

Paid plans. Deleting your account cancels a paid plan so that it does not renew. Time already paid for is not refunded unless the policy for that plan says so.

Inactive accounts. If you do not sign in for 24 months, we may treat your account as inactive and, after notice to your last-known email address, delete it under this Section.

10.4 California Residents

The categories of personal information we collected in the past 12 months, their sources (you, your device, your Inspection Company, and the people who invite you), the purposes, and the categories of recipients are set out in Sections 2, 3, 4 and 7. We did not sell or share personal information in the past 12 months, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.

Shine the Light. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

10.5 Nevada Residents

We do not sell covered information as Nevada law defines it. You may still send an opt-out request to hi@johnni.app.

11. Email and Text Messages

Promotional email. We send promotional email, such as home tips and offers from your Inspection Company and from Johnni, only if you opted in. Every promotional email identifies the sender, includes our valid physical postal address, is labelled as an advertisement where the law requires it, and has a working unsubscribe link. An unsubscribe takes effect at once, and always within 10 business days. Unsubscribing does not stop the service messages in Section 4(c).

Text messages. Johnni does not send promotional or marketing text messages today. If your Inspection Company offers text messages through Johnni, you will be asked for your prior express written consent in a separate checkbox, with the mobile number entered by you, that is never pre-checked and never required to join, book or buy anything. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time and HELP for help. We record your consent, the exact wording shown, the time, and the number. We do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

Sign-in codes are sent by email, not by text message.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for files in Google Cloud Storage and Firebase, signed and token-based access to sensitive services, two-step sign-in for Inspection Company owners, role-based access controls with least privilege for staff, and logging and monitoring of access to our systems.

No system is completely secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law of your state requires.

13. Children

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has given us personal information, write to hi@johnni.app and we will delete the account.

14. Where Information Is Processed

We are based in Canada, and most of our service providers process information in the United States. Some information is stored or processed in Canada (Section 6). Information processed in a country is subject to that country's laws, which may allow its government, courts or law-enforcement authorities to obtain it. We protect information the same way wherever it is processed.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will tell you about material changes through the App, by email, or by a notice on johnni.app at least 14 days before they take effect, and the "Last Updated" date above will change. If a change would use personal information already collected for a materially different purpose, we will ask for your consent first.
